Ranleigh Rascals Day Care Centre
Ranleigh Rascals Day Care Centre
Ranleigh Rascals was established in 1980 as a child
care for children attending Bedford Park Public
School. Ranleigh Rascals is a non-profit Ontario
corporation run by an elected Board of Directors
comprised of parents of children enrolled in the
Centre. Over the years the Centre has grown
from a program that occupied one room to
a program that currently caters to approximately
175 children within the community from preschool
to school age.
The Centre is open 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., except on statutory holidays.
The Centre is open and provides full day care on Professional Development Days, March Break, Easter Monday and any other school holidays designated by the Toronto District School Board.
The vitality of the Centre depends on the commitment of staff, parents and children. The philosophy is guided by the following operational principles:
-
Growth, in all areas of the child’s development, is facilitated by meeting the needs and building on the strengths of each child socially, emotionally, physically, intellectually and creatively.
-
A nurturing and welcoming environment is provided that offers the children an opportunity to learn through play using a variety of options such as participating in planned activities, creating an activity for themselves, or relaxing in a quiet area of the room.
-
Each child is assisted in developing his/her whole self through positive interactions within the childcare environment, with an emphasis on cooperation, sharing and positive problem solving.
